Fonds Ricœur
The Fonds Ricoeur (Ricoeur collection) is a unique collection of documents. It brings together the philosopher Paul Ricoeur’s personal working library, his archives and his entire published work. It is also a center for seminars and scientific and scholarly meetings.

Paul Ricoeur bequeathed his personal library and archives to the Library of the Faculté libre de théologie protestante de Paris where he himself lectured and gave courses from 1958 to 1969. The “Fonds Ricoeur” was created to honour this generous gift.

Ricœur library management

A space for meetings and for study

·          Ricœur’s own library, where there are workstations for researchers

Access conditions

The working library and Ricœur room (14.00-18.00):

Visits to the Ricœur room are possible without registration, up to capacity.

Access to the books and to the work stations require prior registration, dependent upon presentation of a research plan or a letter of interest addressed to the Conseil Scientifique of the Fonds Ricœur , 83 Boulevard  Arago, Paris 75014 and conditional upon space being available. It may be necessary to limit the use of work stations, if too many researchers wish to use the area at the same time, and in such an eventuality priority will be given to those who need intensive access over a short timescale.

Ricœur archives (10.00-14.00 by appointment):

The archives are available for consultation by appointment only, to researchers, teachers and students who have registered successfully, and in the presence of a member of the archive team. Registration will be agreed after discussion with Catherine Goldenstein, Ricœur Archivist (comed.pr@club-internet.fr)  and a member of the Editorial Committee  and accountable to her. If Catherine is unavailable, an interview may be requested with one other member of the Editorial Committee. Use of the archives is regulated by the Editorial Committee, which was given the moral authority to do so, by the will and testament of Paul Ricoeur.
